The incident happened on the Putnam and Dutchess County line on Monday, Jan. 8 just before 5:30 p.m., when the Kent Fire Department received a report of three cars becoming involved in a crash on the northbound Taconic State Parkway.
Arriving first responders found one vehicle in the left lane with damage to its front end. The driver of this car was evaluated but refused medical transport, firefighters said.
The vehicle was later removed by a towing company.
In the aftermath of the incident, the fire department reminded residents to be careful around emergency vehicles.
"The Kent Volunteer Fire Department reminds everyone when they see an emergency vehicle approaching with their lights and sirens activated to move to the right," the department wrote on social media.
